Opening loss
The park opened on April 18, 1991, and the White Sox lost to the Detroit Tigers, 16–0. Attendance was 42,191. Four nights later, on April 22, Frank Thomas hit the first White Sox home run in the new park in an 8–7 win over Baltimore, the first night game there.
