Springsteen opens Brendan Byrne Arena
The building opened on July 2, 1981, with the first of six Bruce Springsteen concerts. It was named for Governor Brendan Byrne. The Nets played there from 1981 to 2010, which is why the arena was built.

- Stay near Meadowlands Arena. Search hotels by the stadium area rather than a brand name.
- Transit-first base. If East Rutherford has rail or subway, a station-area stay is often easier.
